What is your writing process. Do you start the tracks like you have a vision where u wanna go?

Ludacris- My writing process is all over the place but generally speaking, I would say that, umm….., most of the time its basically getting a track from a producer, if I’m not doing it myself. Or working with a producer because its all about atmosphere first when ever you hear and instrumental without any lyrics on there you. Obviously you know you feel something to it. All I try to do is become one with the beat. So sometimes you hear a beat and its real bass driven and maybe real energetic. That’s obviously gonna make you wanna do something hardcore to or make it a club song or do something like that. Then other beats may be soft you may like maybe I need to tell a story on this song. So my writing process usually starts with hearing a song first and then whatever emotion I feel listening to the instrumental, just complimenting that with lyrics and that’s what its all about. And also the writing process is usually done in the car for me. If I have to I’ll write anywhere but I feel like my most creativeness and I feel most comfortable being in a vehicle of some sort, whether its moving or not. Cause its dangerous when I’m writing music and driving at the same time. But that’s how a lot of hit songs come about, because I’m in my car with my own music. I just write on little scraps of paper while I’m driving and It’s ridiculous. It’s crazy and I’m going to elaborate like a mothafucka on these questions cause I think its just the greatest shit so that they didn’t get anything that I’m saying they will get it because I’m talking try to answer all parts of whatever questions you about to ask me. Lets get going.

Do you make a lot of changes during the process?

Ludacris-Oh yea, I’m always making changes. I’m a really nice guy because, I guess when my first album came out where producing isn’t necessarily who did the beat. And I always give the credit to the producer. I won’t name anybody. But I really really have a lot to do with the process of the beat making, the song sequencing, everything, adding certain instruments into the track. I take part in all of that because my main goal is to make myself, the artist Ludacris, my voice as an instrument and the track become one. And that’s why I think I have an edge over all of artist. Because if I can put those two things together, that’s what the word flowing is all about, you flow into the track. And that’s what I try to do.

How do you pick your producers?

Ludacris- Some of the producers I picked on this new album are mostly hungry producers that nobody really knows too much about but I’m just trying  to put them on the map. I did this partly because I hate the stereotype of any artists, or any fan feeling like an artist, can only work with one producer…you know, throughout their whole career. Because what if something happens with their relationship or what if something happens with that producer or that artist where they can’t together anymore. It’s crazy to me. So I feel like, over my career I’ve tried to prove to the fans that its not necessarily who produced the track for me. Its about me making the hit song and just trying to work best with whatever producer I get a track from, if I feel it. So to anwser your question, the only known producers on this album would be Eric Sermon and Kanye West and myself produced the first single. And pretty much everyone else is up and coming producers.

Who are some producers you work with on this album?

Ludacris- New guys like Ice Dre. You can say, Black Keys. Shit, some of these mothafuckas I don’t even know their names, I just got they tracks. Oh, Dj Nasty. Aiight, that’s three. Ice Dre, Dj Nasty and whoever else I just said.

 How do you find producers?

Ludacris-I find these beats party because people come to me with beats and I have a great management staff. And just people know where to get tracks.

Do you still work with Sean Dre?

Ludacris- Oh that was your question. What happened with Sean Dre. Also still working with producer Sean Dre. This particular album, I’m not exactly sure. But we definitely still working with Sean Dre. That’s my dawg, still. Since day 1.

Whats your favorite old school ride?

Ludacris- Damn dawg, I have a 71 Cutlass. That’s crazy that you say that. My favorite ride. It’s a blue cutlass with white stripes, convertible. Its ridiculous man, I ride it around. You probably seen it on some interviews. Matter of fact, with FunkMaster flex, on spike t.v. I think it airs on august 16, the same day as his carshow. You can see my favorite oldschool car, 71 Cutlass supreme. Oldsmobile all day.

How many cars do you own?

Ludacris- I own 6 cars. I have a mustang. I just bought it. But I bought it for one of the cribs I have in miami. So I actually had someone get it for me. If I’m not mistaken, its one of those 97 mustangs. For the fast and furious I’m going to fix it up and make it real ignant. I have a 93 Acura Legend, a 2000 cadillac deville, 2001 cadillac escalade, the 71 cutlass supreme and a 2000 X5. But the X5 I let my moma drive and the rest of my family, who ever needs it. I just let them drive it. Its too fast for me. I already received one speeding ticket in it and I won’t let it happen again. I do that by not driving that shit.

Ludacris- Yeah, I’ve had the 93 Acura legend since before I got signed. It was the car I always wanted. I still love it. That’s my most favorite car, to this date. Just because there’s so many blood sweat and years to it. Champagne 93 Acura Legend, just got the leather redone on the inside. It looks like new. Its beautiful. 180,000 miles on it, it still rides like I just pulled that bitch of the lot. Yeah.

What do you have in the works as far as movies?

Ludacris- I can talk all day about movies I’m considering. I would rather talk about movies that are in stone because it’s a different game when it comes to the Hollywood game. But I can definitely tell you, you can expect see me in some more movies. I just, I’m sorry I can’t tell everyone right now exactly which ones they are. There’s a animated one coming out wit my voice on it as well as some other voices, Lil’ Kim, Bernie Mac, Mistikal. Its called “Lil’ Pimp”. Its almost like South Park to the tenth power, a lot of cursing, It’s gonna be humorous though, it’s crazy. It’s coming out probably around the end of this year. And I sold a script to MTV Paramount called “Skip Day” a while ago. We’re just now getting first drafts back from that. So, You can expect that. That’s also in stone. Skip Day. Its kinda  like a mix between “Ferris Bueler’s Day off” and “House Party”, southern style.

Ludacris- Well, like the “Skip Day” is the one that we had a lot of input as far as the writing process is concerned. So yea you can say that we had a lot to do with that, from the ground up. We started it with an idea. We started getting it on paper with my man, Phil Bowman, who is an experienced writer. So, I’m in the learning process right now when it comes to scripts and movies. I think its going real good.

Do you have a lot to do with the ideas in your videos?

Ludacris- Man, its been 2 years in my career. I usually have a lot of input when it comes to my videos, just telling directors what I want. But this time, I actually wrote it down on paper. Because I had the vision for it and I knew exactly how I wanted the video to go.  So my man Dave Maze, he kinda like..you could just say fine edited or fine tuned some of the ideas that I had. I came up with the idea the same way I talked about making a song. It starts with the instrumental, then comes with the lyrics. It’s the same way you make a video. You visualize anything that you do. So I just visualized everything that I said and what I felt. Then I came up with the treatment on how I felt and my mind works in some pretty crazy ways, so you can expect this one to be ridiculous.

Tell us about the video for Stand Up

Ludacris- The video is going to be pretty much a club atmosphere. The record is called “Stand Up” and when you hear it, that is exactly what that shit is going to make you wanna do. Its very high energy. Very club oriented. Its going to make you want to dance. The hook is ‘when I move you move’. You know you see a lot of people dancing in sink. Whether you see it in videos, jamaican dances to the chicken head dance with Chingy, or just regular every day people that are not on television that go to clubs and dance with their girlfriends, and they dance in sink. Oh shit…so this video, you can expect a lot of sink in there. You really have to listen to the song in order for me to tell you details about how the video is going to go. But one of my ideas, I say in one of my lyrics that ‘my chain is so big, it feels like a midget is hanging from my necklace”. So I take things to the extreme and there will actually be a midget hanging from my necklace in the video. We’ll spray paint him to look platinum. And that’s what its going to be about. Also crazy things like Chicken and Beer. Beer like the size of someone’s body and Chicken like the size of someone’s body. Big ass Air Force Ones, big watches. Just things to the extreme, pretty much. Wildin out. I’m trying to think what else is dope as fuck about it though.

What do you say to people who say your lyrics are to sexual?

Ludacris- Man, you know. And this is what they criticize me for and I love it. I’m from Atlanta, Georgia. Whether you like it or not, Atlanta is the strip club capital of the world. Whether you haven’t lived it, u know people don’t like hip hop because they haven’t lived what we sing and haven’t see some of the things. Dammit, this is our reality, this is how we live. This is what goes down. You should come to the strip club with me in Atlanta, Georgia. There are plenty of them. They’re all great. Not only is their good women who dance in front of you, and have great bodies.  Its also food. Its also the drinks. Its also the politics of you know women coming in the strip club also. Not necessarily that they’re gay, they just coming to politic. You have all the music industry heads, all the sports figures, this is what they love to do. And they all meet in these strip clubs. There’s a specific strip club that the most popular to me, in Atlanta Georgia, called Magic City.  This is where we shot the video. Its called “P-poppin” “Booty poppin” (the clean version), whatever you want to call it. And what we’re trying to do is what hip hop does to everybody, it brings you to our neighborhood. Whether we’re narrating or whether we’re speaking from experience or something that’s going on, we are bringing the world to Magic City. And this is the best way for you to find out what goes on every night in Atlanta Gerogia when people go to a strip club. That’s basicly what its about. Plain and simple.

Who were the girls in the P Poppin video?

Ludacris- No she only did that for one particular verse. I had a sixteen bar verse. She did that for sixteen bars. So she did it for a good over sixty seconds standing on her head. She didn’t feel bad about it at all. She kept on doing it like a champ at least seven or eight takes. And she was a pro at it. She wasn’t complaining  at all basiclly, is what I’m saying. I think she was just happy to be in the video. Even though we don’t really see her. We just see her ass and legs.

Ludacris- The girl sliding down the pole, you know there are many girls that slide down the pole just as well, with just as much creativeness and energy and things of that nature. But yeah she didn’t have to do it that many times either. That was more like a two take thing. It doesn’t take that much time to slide down the pole, it was pretty good. Actually, that was the same girl. She’s real athletic, real strong. It’s a good thing.

Ludacris- Yeah she had more than one scene

How many people were at the P Poppin video shoot?

Ludacris- You know, we kinda shut the door after a certain amount of time definitely because there were people trying to get in. We can only have so many people in Magic City, its only so big. But it was a wild experience. We had a great time. That’s what its all about. We’re here to entertain you. That’s what we are, entertainers.

What do you bring to the table with this album?

Ludacris- Every album that I do, I definitely want to reinvent myself and also take things to another level when it comes to adding a chapter of my life. Because people want to know more about myself. I understand that. And more about who I am and kinda like put the whole puzzle together. Create more of a picture. That’s something that I’m going  to do with each and every album. What makes “Chicken & Beer” different is just taking things to levels, new links. Of course, I’m the same Ludacris that everyone seems to like. You know for the people that buy my albums. Just being wild and crazy and humorous. But then there’s another side. For instance, I’ve never told stories. I tell at least two stories on this album and I think they’re real good. One is just basiclly how I got started so that so many people stop asking where the fuck I came from and how I got started in the music industry. I broke that shit down in a song that’s going to be on this album, from beginning to end.  From when I was born to the point I’m at now. Another song for instance called “Hard  Times”. Where a lot of people wouldn’t necessarily think I would talk about any hard times being where I’m at now. But it’s true, I have a lot of hard times. And that’s what its about.

What will be the title of the next album?

Ludacris- The title for the next album. I still have a good two weeks. I got it narrowed down. I got two weeks to decide that. I wish I could call it “Asses to Asses, Lust to Lust”. But I don’t know if I can put asses out there to the record stores. I don’t see why not, because Coldplay has a video out there called “Ass Backwards”. But the difference between rap groups and rock groups is phenomenal in corporate America. They seems to get away with so much more than we can. Other titles that I’m looking at, “Hot Cakes” cause that’s how my albums sell, like hot cakes. “Lose a fan, gain a fan”. And I had another one…oh, “Six Degrees of Penetration”. Those are just some of the choices I had. What do you guys think?

What are  some of the craziest things fans or you  have done?

Ludacris- Yea, the craziest thing a fan has ever done. The most frequently asked question. I have a very short memory span. Which anwsers another question, which is something about Ludacris that everyone doesn’t know. I have a very selective memory. Dammitt, I’ve never said that. That’s great. I have a very selective memory. It seems like I only remember some of the things I want to remember. But back to the original question, what’s the craziest things fans have done. People have thrown panties and shit like that on stage. But that’s something that happens to a lot of people. I actually went to san francisco at a show and saw a girl with a whole gold grill with ‘Luda’ in the middle of it. That was crazy. Just to meet me back stage. Yea she got to meet me backstage. She was real cool. I just couldn’t believe she had a whole gold grill that said Luda. I was in North Carolina one time. And if you haven’t heard this story than dammitt you’re not on your job. I was going to a strip club and we were greeted by the own of the strip club when we were outside to take us inside. She was a woman. And basically she went into the strip club. I came to find out that she was the mother of at least three or four daughters in the strip club, stripping and working in there. And then when we left the owner which was the mother of the daughters came on to my tour bus and started trying to strip for us. But she was fat and nasty so we kicked her off. That’s another crazy thing. A family followed me before. We had a show outside a certain city and they followed me the whole way. And when I say its crazy just because usually it would maybe be some teenagers following you or someone. But no this consisted of a mother, a father, a daughter, and a son. The whole family followed me and that just blew my mind. So you know, just to name a few. That’s a crazy thing a fan has ever done. Some more things that no one probably knows about Ludacris. I’m a real adventurous person. I’ve sky dived before. I’ve always wanted to do that man. Yea, Theda.com skydived with me and she was completely frightened. But I mean, its fun. I’ve done it twice once in Hawaii and once outside of New York. I just bought a new crib. This answers two questions what am I most happy about or what was the happiest point in my life, buying this house. I’ve always wanted a big ass house and I finally got it. 22 acres of land, 15 thousand square feet. This house, anything you name it has it. I have a movie theater. I have a basketball court. A tennis court. 2 kitchens. A lake outside where you can go fishing. I ride 4 wheelers on my property. I have a pool of course. Two saunas, two steam rooms. A dummy waiter. Like Six bedrooms. Hideaway spots. Its ridiculous. I could go on and on about that. The other happiest point in my life was when I signed two Def Jam records and I was able to quite my job at the radio station. I felt great about that.  Hmmm what else can I tell you about. I told you about the 6 cars. I actually have 7 cribs. I'm very happy about that. In different places. Mostly in the places I go the most. 2 in Miami. 1 in L.A.. 1 in jersey, right outside NY. 3 in Atlanta. So that makes your seven. What else can I say? Come on Theda, you know this stuff.

What do you look for in a woman?

Ludacris-  What do I look for in a woman, oh God. I’m definitely a sucker for a big ass. I have to say that. If you got a nice butt, I’m going to at least check you out. Even if I haven’t seen you face yet and just see your walking. I think a lot of men are like this. Thighs, hips, legs. I have a foot fetish. Not for myself. I don’t think men should expose their feet. If you ask me, wearing sandals and shit like that, grown men shouldn’t do it. That’s just my opinion.  But when it comes to women, I love a woman who has a good pedicure. Keeps herself manicured and pedicured, and grooms herself. A woman who changes up her hairstyle and the color of her nails. I love shit like that. I also like a woman who’s very fashionable. Of course intelligent, beautiful on the inside and out. Pretty face. Just takes care of herself. I hate tubble-wear titties. I shouldn’t say that. But for me, its cool to have breast implants but I like a woman who has regular….basically I’m not saying I hate breast implants. But I’m just saying I would think more of you if you keep the original breasts that you have and their small then if you go get breast implants and their big. I just like a woman who has as much natural stuff on her as possible. Thats great. My favorite song of all the songs I’ve done. Right now, it currently has to be “Stand up”, my first single from “Chicken & Beer” which is dropping October 7th.

If you could record with anyone dead or alive who would it be?

Ludacris- If I could record with anyone dead or alive it would definitely be Tupac Shakur. Why? Because I feel like, I always talk about music is all about emotion. I feel like he go to anybody emotionally more than any other artist in this music industry. And just to do a song with him would mean so much. Seeing if he would even do a job with me at this point. It would mean a lot. I know how much of a hard worker he was and he motivates me. Even though he’s deceased, he just motivates me a lot.

What do you think about Kobe Bryant?

Ludacris- Let me just go ahead and say that, I stand behind Cobe Bryant. I think he’s definitely guilty of adultery but do I think he raped that girl, Hell no. I think it’s a crazy situation. They already saying this woman has tried to kill herself and done some crazy things. So I think she’s out there for attention and I stand behind Cobe and I hope that everything goes well with him.

Tell us about Pepsi and Bill O’Reilly

Ludacris- They’re going to want to know, what the hell. Bill O’Reilly. I must go ahead and say that no matter what he says, I definitely believe he is a racist and completely a hypocrite. I’m very glad that everything happened the way it did with the Pepsi corporation dropping me and him talking about me. For one, I’ve gained so many more fans from this man talking about me on his television show. It was more of a win win situation, because he got more ratings for his show. But end the end, payback is a mothafucka. So the way I feel, I should pay him back is to stay successful. That’s my way of fighting. Because to be an ignorant person would be to say I wanna punch him in his face. But no, I’m not saying that. I think the way to fight back is to do more movie deals and to stay successful as a rapper. And just to get more endorsement deals. And that’s the what I think is the best way to fight back to Bill O’Reilly. As I think he’s a racist and a hypocrite because of the simple fact that as soon as I got dropped the Osbournes got added. Now I love the Osbournes. I’ve been an Ozzy Osbourne fan for years . But this is the prime example. I have to use them as an example right now. Just to show them what the Pepsi corporation and Bill O’Reilly did was wrong. Bill O’Reilly said comparing the Osbournes to Ludacris is like comparing Winona Rider to Ted Bundy. I feel as if this is crazy because what I do and what he criticized me for is my speach and  what I say on records and my language and he thinks I’m a menace to society and all of these crazy things. He's basing this off what I’m saying in my records. On the other hand, the Osbournes, everyone in the nation can watch what goes on inside of their household. Not only what  they say and the vulgar language they use in their household, but what they do. And for him to say that about me, And he's saying that I'm worse than the Osbournes and anyone sane, in their right mind, knows that isn't true. I appreciate everyone who has written letters and expressed their opinion to this corporation. And the end result is my non-profit organization which I will talk about in a minute, called the Ludacris Foundation, recieves a certain amount of money each year from the Pepsi corporation for certain charities that we both agree on. And thats the only thing this corporation can do for me, is help me with the community. I'm very happy on the way everything happned. I wouldn't have changed anything becuase it has made me more politicially aware and more politically involved as I can be,  as far as being a rapper. And made me realize that this is how we're treated in corporate America  and that children of today need to learn about bussiness so that decisions like these aren't made becase the decision that both of these  people made in this situation was the wrong one. And what really kills me is that Pepsi hired me three months before this man got on television and said something bad about me, and then they decided to drop me. And you know, like I say everyone has their own opinion. I think its great. "Chicken and Beer" the album, I adress this in only about three lines and I'll do away with it. And thats about it with that situation. Ludacris Foundation is an organization that is geared towards helping kids help themselves. We don't concentrate on any one thing specifically. It's so general, because we concetrate on different projects each year. I've had it for about three years. Just to give you an idea of what we've done. I went to Miami. We fed the homeless. I was actually there myself and I educated alot about the homeless and about the shelters and how people get into those shelters and how they get out and make a better life for themselves. Going to hospitals with rehabiliation centers. I have a real soft spot for children who are handicapped. That they can't go out and do everything that eveyrone else does. Ecspecially the ones that have to stay in hospitals. I make it my duty to go to these hospitals and try to comfort them in the way of giving them product, lettting them see me in person whereas they ussually only see me on t.v.. And I think thats great. Doing motivational speaches from schools to different organizatios. Sponsoring Boy's and Girl's clubs and other organizatios so that they can get uniforms and get trophies. Of course the regular things like sponsoring turkeys for Thanksgiving and sponsoring families for Christmas, which is a great thing. UMMM what else. CP Time clothing, we're trying to come out with that soon. CP time, my name is chris and the other guy who I'm doing it with, his name is Punn. C-P time, if you want to put a label on it, thats where the CP time comes from. Its not about black people being late which is what some people think. And if thats the case, I'm a person thats on time alot. And I'm very bussiness oriented , very proffesioanl person. So I'm trying to change the meaning of CP time from being late to being on time. And thats exactly what we need to start doing. Everybody. What else am I dong?  Chingy. Distrubing the Peace as a movement. Not only am I a rapper.....
