‘White Rapper’ Persia Speaks Out Against Young Jeezy ‘White Girl’ Promotion

April 4th, 2007 | By Administrator

White female rapper Persia has spoken out against Young Jeezy & USDA’s plans to create an all-white street team to promote the group’s new single “White Girl.”

According to Persia, the promotion is nothing more than a gimmick that could have unneeded racial undertones, and didn’t fit the song’s true subject matter – cocaine.

“Is this what Hip-Hop has come to?” told Daveyd.com of the promotion. “I thought his white girl song was a metaphor, so why don’t have a band of baseheads handing out the flyers.”

Persia’s stance comes on the heels of an announcement by Jeezy and USDA, who seek “field marketing teams” to help promote the group’s new album, Young Jeezy Presents USDA: Cold Summer.

Slick Pulla said the group are seeking 18-24-year old “blondes, the brunettes, the green eyes, the grey eyes, the red heads” to help promote the album on the remaining stops of the Street Dreams Tour.

“Another thing I cant stand in Hip-Hop,” Persia said. “The whole ’sex sells’ movement. And I’m embarrassed for Jeezy for even thinking this was the next ‘bomb idea.’”

Persia is best remembered for her part on a competitive reality show on VH1, which was hosted by MC Serch.

She was eventually eliminated.

In related news, Persia is slated to appear in New York from May 5-6 at The Underscore.

According to reports, the rapper will perform during Eric Tapout’s NYC Saturday Night Show.

The event will also feature performances by 2007 American Idol star Marisa Rhodes, NBC’s America’s Most Talented Kids finalist Ashley Rose and others.

Young Buck Decries Violence Against Kids, Deads Beefs, Talks New Album

March 27th, 2007 | By Administrator

Young Buck is on a promotional tour for his album, Buck The World, but the Nashville, TN rapper took a moment to comment on the alleged assault between Tony Yayo and a 14-year-old.

Buck said that he was unable to support the alleged action of his fellow G-Unit member during an interview with Angie Martinez of New York’s Hot 97.

“I’ma be honest, I don’t respect nobody putting no hands on no kid. I got a child myself. If somebody put they hands on mine, I understand the way it goes,” Young Buck said yesterday (Mar. 26).

“In this situation, I don’t understand the truth of it, but I don’t rock with nothing that’s under that circumstance about putting your hands on no kid. I’m a real street individual and it wouldn’t matter if it was my crew or any other crew.”

Tony Yayo was arraigned on Mar. 25 and charged with one count of misdemeanor assault and one count of endangering the welfare of a minor.

The alleged altercation took place between Yayo and the 14-year-old son of Jimmy “Henchmen” Rosemond, a rival. Tony Yayo allegedly backhanded the boy after seeing him in the street.

Young Buck related feelings to the mob code of leaving women and children out of the field of battle.

“It falls upon the individual. I maintain and do what I gotta do [but] I can’t rock with nothing that’s wrong. I can’t say Yayo did it, but if he did it, its wrong,” the 26-year-old said.

Nevertheless, Buck said that his comrade was innocent until proven guilty.

Buck has had his share beef in the past, but the rapper has recently expressed a desire for a more peaceful existence among his Hip-Hop peers.

Young Buck told AllHipHop.com that he and G-Unit rival The Game spoke and they made a resolution of peace over the phone.

“We just left the situation on the phone call on the note of ?you do you without involving G-Unit and me in your music and we do us without involving you or what you got going in our music,” Young Buck told AllHipHop.com. “And that?s the level we left the conversation on,” the rapper said.

While the two may be cool with one another, fans should not expect a Young Buck/Game collaboration any time soon, despite rampant rumors.

“We ain?t had conversations on nothin? like that. We?ve only spoke once,” Young Buck stated. There may be a lot of different rumors sayin? this and that, but we not even ready to be amongst each other at this point.”

In addition to the Game, Young Buck met up with another of 50 Cent?s rivals, Jadakiss, during his time in Las Vegas and inquired about the D-Block lyricist’s feelings about G-Unit.

“I don?t come disrespectful. Not at all. I come as a man and I come prepared for whatever it may be,” Young Buck told AllHiphop.com. “Jada, he wasn?t trippin?. Jada’s whole thing was ‘look man. I?m not trippin? off that s**t. I?m getting money. I?m all about getting to the music and the money Buck.’ We smoked a couple of blunts together and kept it movin.? Real n***a s**t.”

Buck The World features a diverse line up of entertainers, like Snoop Dogg, Trick Daddy, Bun B, Eightball and MJG, Ky-Mani Marley, Lyfe Jennings, Linkin Park member Chester Bennington and others.

The album also boasts production from Dr. Dre, Eminem, DJ Paul, Lil Jon, Jazze Pha, Polo Da Don, Jake One, Justice League and others.

“I realized that I?m in touch with a lot of different people, all different nationalities of people is in touch with Buck,” he added. “I think just from a fan point of view, they look for an artist to reinvent themselves with the music, but stay the same person that they grow to love. I was more relaxed with making this record. I had more time to put the album together than I did my first record. My first record [Straight Outta Cashville] was rushed, instead of classic. So you can imagine where this one was is.”

Buck The World hit stores today (Mar. 27).
